We have so many new followers and buyers, we thought it fitting to shed some light on our decision to start into the breeding industry.
Tex has always had a passion for horses, but kept his remuda pretty small and only raised a handful of horses each year, either keeping them or mostly giving them to friends or family. There were several times Tex and Linda wondered and prayed about if they should just sell their horses and focus on other things. They just could not pull the trigger on letting them go. Then we had some good friends, come see our mares and realized what a gold mine we had in our foundation lines. With the help of Dennis and Kristi Peton, we acquired Fancy Cut Diamonds, the stallion that really turned everything around for us, and re-ignited our dreams. It amazes us how God always sends the right people at the right times to help us keep perusing what He has put in our hearts.
This is when we decided to start offering our offspring to others, our first real crop of foals being in 2017. From there, God has helped us acquire some other terrific stallions and we have kept several of Fancy Cut Diamonds fillies to cross with our other stallions.
We believe this is just the beginning of great things for our buyers and our ranch. Tex has been cultivating his remuda as long as many of the well-known horse ranches, BUT the dream only really started to come alive in the last several years. Now, the whole family has caught the vision, and we plan on running our race with fervency!
We are blessed and grateful to have such a great following and such terrific horsemen and women that have purchased our horses. This has become a generational dream and we are so excited for not only the future of Third River Ranch, but for all the futures, dreams and passions that everyone who buys a Third River Ranch horse has.
We will share more on our name in posts to come, but for now, just know that just because we haven’t been selling horses that long, doesn’t mean that we haven’t been positioning ourselves for some of the best pedigree lines around. Tex’s hours and hours of studying pedigrees and cultivating the remuda he has, has been paying off for our buyers, as we have testimony after testimony of how well-minded and trainable they are, along with good bone and athleticism.
God continues to give us the best relationships with our buyers, many of them becoming fast friends, and we look for this to only grow.
Thank you all, for your faithful following, and constant support as we continue this journey. God bless you all!!
