This year has been a busy year at Third River Ranch. We have been very blessed by the response everyone has that has a Third River Ranch horse. The main comments we get run along the lines of great mind, great attitude, athletic…. We strive to not only have athletic horses, but horses that are fun to be around, and that takes time to cultivate. Tex pays close attention to the attitudes of not just stallions but also the mares.
We also are listening to what our buyers are most interested in, and then deciding what newer bloodlines to introduce into our remuda that will compliment the lines we already have. In 2019 we bred 2 of our best mares to Cowtown Cat from Tee Cross ranch. This horse is High Brow Cat bred and we believe will be a great cross for these 2 mares. We have also purchased a new blue roan stud who has Peptoboonsmal, Smart Little Lena and Shining Sparks in his pedigree. In addition we kept one colt a stud from 2018 who will be breeding a handful of our mares this year, and he has Genuine Doc lineage on both top and bottom, and has a fantastic mind…. oh, and he is also blue roan. We are excited about the new crosses for our mares.
As promised, a few of our young horses will be going on the market by May 9th. We will also have a 2 year old and a 3 year old available later in the summer. I will post links as they become available. You will also be able to see the pedigrees of the new stallions and the new mares that we have added to the remuda.
