For those of you that like to see the faces behind the operation, this post is for you!
From left to right… Uncle Dee, Tex’s younger brother and partner in crime. They go to all of the horse sales together and Dee is our right hand man, always looking for great bloodlines and opportunities for us to grow. Also, he is our go to when we need boots on the ground going to AQHA since he lives just up the road. Many summer days are also spent helping us fix pens, hang gates or whatever the task may be (including much ironing at Bailey’s wedding!).
Next up is Jaelyn, the youngest of the bunch at 17, but getting ready to fly the coop next fall. She is our in house resident for keeping all the mares/babies and crosses straight. If any of us ever forget who belongs to whom, she sets us straight, gleaning much breeding and pedigree knowledge from her Papa Tex. She also excels at helping us tame the foals.
Monty, Tex and Linda’s son in law. He is amazing at fixing up just about anything and making everything look ship shape. Surrounded by lovers of horses, he has also caught the Third River Ranch vision and is a great help especially at branding time!! A master organizer and leader, he helps us implement a lot of great ideas and is a fantastic supporter of our dreams.
Danni, Tex and Linda’s daughter is in charge of all things internet. From these posts, to facebook to google searches, she is the one that is behind all of the communication and organization. She (I, lol) absolutely love talking to all of our followers, buyers and interested parties. We have such an amazing group of people that we get to do business with and it is so rewarding to build friendships with all of you! You are way more than numbers to us, you are extended family.
Bailey, the bride in this photo, recently married but after she graduates in May from Bible college she will be working hand in hand with Tex, on the groundwork for all the colts that we end up keeping as well as putting time in the saddle on our other horses. Bailey’s place is in the outdoors, she loves all things animals and even though she looks so sweet, she has the “Boss Mare” attitude when it comes to training. Nothing is going to pull a fast one on her!
Tex, the man… the visionary that had a dream and then shared it with all of us… a true legacy builder. He has studied pedigrees and horses his entire life, he has ridden, roped, trained, and raised horses… for the better part of his life. Now he is enjoying sharing his knowledge and amazing horses with everyone he can. A giver by nature, if you know him you know his heart is always to bless others even if it is at his own expense, and that is one reason we will follow him anywhere. The credit for the brains, breeding and conformation of our horses goes to him.
Linda, Tex’s wife, and also know as the “Boss.” Linda, although 77, can outwork any one of us. From dusk till dawn she is up and at em, feeding, cleaning, and working with the horses. She is truly an inspiration and such a great example of hard work and determination. She creates the biggest bonds with the horses and so letting them go is hardest on her as they become her babies. A heart for God and family, she is an incredible person.
Sherry, Tex and Linda’s oldest daughter and long distance source of help and encouragement. She visits the ranch at every opportunity and helps us in any way possible during her stays, from helping halter break to building pens she is game for all of it. She shares the vision and is involved in the business meetings as well as owning of few of the mares herself. Her heart is also for God and people and is looking forward to retirement so she can visit more. She is a huge blessing and we are so glad that she takes her time to come help us out.
We just wanted to take a minute to let you in on who we are. We have some exciting news coming soon, so be on the lookout!
God bless you all.
