Rosa

Rosa has been a cornerstone of our breeding program for many years. We have retained several of her foals as replacement mares because they consistently inherit her top-notch disposition and exceptional athletic ability.

Rosa is a half-sister to Third River Class (affectionately known as “Sunflower”), and both mares carry some of the most legendary names in Quarter Horse history in their pedigrees.

Legendary Bloodlines: The Legacy of Sun Frost & Driftwood

• Sun Frost (AQHA Hall of Fame, 2022) A handsome palomino stallion, Sun Frost possessed the blazing speed needed to catch a calf and the natural “cow sense” of a top cutting horse. Beyond siring world-class barrel racing champions, his greatest attribute was his exceptional mind and disposition—a trait Rosa proudly passes on to her offspring.

• Driftwood The great-grandsire of Sun Frost, Driftwood (known to ropers as “Speedy”) was a bullet out of the box and a legendary, durable arena horse. He stood up to the heavy pressure of endless runs, long hauls, and different ropers. He consistently sired fast, calm-natured, and highly athletic horses with beautiful heads. His famous progeny include Driftwood Ike, Poker Chip Peake, Henny Penny Peake, and Speedywood.
