TR FANCY CLASS

About

Born and raised right here at Third River Ranch, this special mare was originally meant for the sale ring. However, the more time we spent with her, the more we knew we couldn’t let her go. She has proven to be an incredible addition to our remuda and will eventually step into her mother’s shoes as a cornerstone producer. Combining proven barrel racing bloodlines with striking color, she is built to produce athletes that are just as beautiful as they are talented.

Dam’s Heritage: Athleticism, Speed, & Mind

• Sun Frost (AQHA Hall of Fame, 2022): A handsome palomino stallion renowned for his versatility—fast enough to catch a calf and cowy enough to dominate the cutting pen. Beyond siring legendary barrel racing champions, his defining hallmark was his exceptional mind and disposition.

• Driftwood: The great-grandsire of Sun Frost, known affectionately to ropers as “Speedy.” A bullet out of the box, he was the ultimate business partner: durable, level-headed under pressure, and capable of handling long hauls and multiple riders. He consistently sired fast, calm-natured, and athletic athletes with beautiful heads. Famous progeny include Driftwood Ike, Poker Chip Peake, Henny Penny Peake, and Speedywood. (Source: AQHA)

Sire’s Heritage: Royalty of the Performance Arena

• Diamonds Sparkle (AQHA Hall of Fame, 2007; NRHA Hall of Fame, 1996): An outstanding show horse and one of the most influential broodmares in Quarter Horse history.

• Doc Bar (AQHA Hall of Fame, 1993): A legend that completely revolutionized the cutting horse industry. As ranch manager Charlie Ward famously noted, “His colts are uniform, possess a lot of sense, and are easy to train… every one of them is cowy.”

• Poco Bueno (AQHA Hall of Fame, 1990): Sire of 405 registered foals, including 36 AQHA Champions and 3 NCHA Hall of Fame inductees. Trainer Bob Fagan called him “the greatest horse I’ve ever been with… Gentle, smart, and nearly all his colts were the same way.” (Source: AQHA)
